Lazuli
The name “lapis lazuli" comes from the Latin lapis - "stone" - and the Persian lazhuward - "blue."
For the ancient civilisations, lapis lazuli was the true gemstone, more prized than gold itself. In ancient times, the stone had religious significance and reflected the high status of their rulers. The stone was said to have healing properties and could bring wisdom, courage and creativity to its holder.
